Status: planned. There is no vending machine to use yet.
The idea is blind minting for magazines and comics: pick a themed machine, pay a small fee, and get a random issue from that machine's stock — common through ultra-rare, not revealed until it is yours. Once minted it is a normal NFT: read it, keep it, or trade it on the marketplace.
Some machines would also carry bonus items — a collectible bookmark, or access to something not otherwise on sale.
Why it is not live
Blind minting only works honestly if the randomness is verifiable, so a buyer can check after the fact that the draw was not weighted against them. Getting that right on-chain is the work, and shipping it without that guarantee would make it a lottery you have to take our word for. We would rather ship it late than ship it untrustworthy.
What you can do today
Magazines and comics are on sale in the normal way — you can see exactly what you are buying before you buy it. Browse them in the bookstore.
The vending machines will be announced on What's New when they open.
