Become A Librarian, eBooks Rentals

The Library Pass (live) and eBook rentals (planned)

Two things are described here. One is live, one is not.

Library Pass — available now

The Genesis Library Pass is live. Holding one gives you access to books on the platform without buying each one individually, plus perks on new releases.

It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription — there is nothing to cancel and nothing that lapses. And because the pass is itself an NFT, you can resell it if you stop wanting it, which a cancelled subscription can never give you back.

You can buy one with a credit or debit card; no crypto needed. See the Genesis Library Pass page for what it includes.

Renting out your books — planned

Status: planned. Not available.

The Librarian idea is that owning books could earn you something: lend a book you own to another reader for a set period, at a price you set, and be paid for it. Your ownership never moves — only a time-limited right to read it — and the book returns to you automatically when the term ends. The author earns their share of each rental.

This is real technology on Flow, not speculation about it, but it is not built yet. Nothing on the platform rents books today, and there is no waiting list.

It will be announced on What's New when it opens.
