The Ad Border is an optional frame around the edge of the window. Logos travel around all four sides as one continuous loop — along the top, down the right, back along the bottom, up the left — and while it is showing, it pays you gems.
It is off unless you turn it on. Nothing shows it to you by default, and it is never shown to a visitor who is not signed in.
Turning it on
Two places, and they are the same switch:
- Profile → Settings → Display Preferences → "Ad Border Widget"
- The "Try the sponsor frame" button, wherever you come across it on the site
Flipping either one shows or hides the frame immediately — no page reload, and the two controls can never disagree with each other.
What you earn
While the frame is on and you are signed in, you earn 1 gem every 10 minutes — six gems an hour. A live counter rides the frame itself, so you can watch the current window fill up rather than wonder whether it is working.
A few details worth knowing, because they are deliberate:
- You have to be signed in. Gems go to an account, and an anonymous visitor does not have one. The frame does not appear at all until you are signed in.
- A hidden tab does not pay. Claims are skipped while the tab is in the background, so leaving the site open overnight is not a payout.
- The clock is ours, not your browser's. Each 10-minute window is worked out on the server, and a window can only ever pay once. Refreshing the page, opening ten tabs, or leaving it open in two browsers does not earn any faster.
Gems spend on quiz unlocks, AI Studio generations, and gifts to other readers in the community.
What it does to the page
- It starts below the site header and sits behind it, so navigation is never covered or blocked.
- Page content is inset by the thickness of the frame, so it never sits on top of a button or a form you were trying to use.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, the logos stop travelling and simply sit still.
Whose logos are those?
They are the companies whose technology this platform is built on and the partners it works with — Flow, Dapper, Anthropic, Vercel, Pinata, Crossmint, OpenSea, ElevenLabs and others. Each one links to that company's own site.
A handful are set as plain type rather than a logo. That is on purpose: where we do not have an authentic brand asset, we would rather show the name than draw an approximation of somebody else's mark.
No blockchain, nothing to sign
Turning the frame on is a display preference and nothing more. It does not sign a transaction, it does not spend anything, and it does not touch your wallet. An earlier version of this feature did run an on-chain transaction on every toggle and advertised payouts in PAGE — that is gone. Gems are held on our side of the fence, and PAGE itself has not launched (see Page Token).
